Hip Hop war horses DJ Premier and Ransom combine forces and deliver a remarkable seven track album The Reinvention. As a die hard, I was eagerly waiting this release from two of my favorites like a kid at Christmas. Premo’s exceptional production and cuts still rises to the top after 35 plus years and is superbly fused with Ransom’s lyricism. Each track serves as food for thought with wisdom that only true veterans can obtain from life experience. Amazing Graces goes first setting the tone for the whole project quoting every Gang Starr album that raises the question is this the best match since Guru and Preem??? My only gripe is that it’s too short at eighteen minutes but hopefully this savory appetizer will serve for a greater feast. Hip Hop needs it!!
