MA’s Shawn Mics emerges from quarantine with a five track EP Precursor Vol. 1: The Lost Scrolls. The project was put together during the beginning of the pandemic out of a need to not go crazy. “My whole career felt like I was so dependent on everyone else in order to record or release music and being locked at home really slapped me in the face with that fact. I built a studio and started learning how to record and mix myself and I got busy real fast. I was left with my thoughts, my vices, a beat pack from various producers, and nothing but time” says Shawn. The intro I Will Not Fall sets the tone by his refusal to let his negative situation get the best of him. Hip Hop That We Know is the latest visual and addresses artists unionizing in order to survive during hard times. Producers Don P, Gaston, Eapro, Dillygotitbumpin, and DJ Newphaze supply the instrumentals and it’s clear that this won’t be the last thing you hear from Shawn Mics this year.
