Mickey Slimee was born and raised in Chicago’s north side in one of the most dangerous projects in America (Cabrini Green). It was made most popular by the terrifying horror movie Candy Man and the hit tv series Good Times. With a grandmother as a legal guardian in a single parent home, Mickey would find himself joining the Mickey Cobra Street Gang at the tender age of eleven years old. Not being interested in sports or other kid hobbies made him more assessable to gang and street life until he heard Master P’s “I’m Bout It, Bout It” that would change his life forever. He began to write raps and the neighborhood and community took a liking to the young rapper immediately. At age thirteen he was discovered by local celebrity Marcus Swinger who was working on signing a lucrative recording deal with Diddy’s Bad Boy imprint which took his writing and storytelling skills to another level. Currently his recording and studio present has become unmatched and not many have ever seen so much pain and wisdom come from such a young person.
His latest video On Me is directed by 13twentythree and produced by Maniac Beats. The track has Mickey speaking on his real life situation. “I Got It On Me 24/7. If You Know, You Know!” says Mickey. The song was featured on the Target Practice mixtape which dropped on Christmas. Check out the video now on youtube as well NerveDJSmixtapes.com.
