Michigan boom bap lyricist Substance810 returns with his latest video Midnight Oil directed by Tre Rooh. The visuals highlight the daily grind of balancing a full-time job, supporting children, being independent in the rap game, and at the same time being haunted by dark thoughts. “My worst fear is not failing, it is not having the courage to try at all” says Substance. The song is featured on his Definition Of LP featuring Daniel Son, Jay Royale, Jamil Honesty, Rome Streetz, Rudy Williams, DJ Grazzhoppa, and Drip Matthews. The project is entirely produced by himself with the exception of one track by Know It. “The album is a transparent look into my life and emotions that pays homage to my first 2006 release under a different name” says Substance.
