Vocab Slick (Distant Relatives) has deep roots in Hip Hop stemming from his teenage years spent rhyming in the northern Bay Area of California. His hard work and grind is never ceasing including touring alongside Locksmith, Paris, Planet Asia and Chino XL and numerous projects with notable features from Zumbi of Zion I and The Grouch & Eligh.
His latest video When I’m Here”FT. Equipto & Simone´ Mosely pays homage to the people in his life who have passed on. Produced by Nohokai & Starski and directed by Alex Diaz Pena, the visuals contain a memorial of sorts with pictures of loved ones, candles, and sage. “There has been an ongoing theme especially in Hip Hop but other art forms as well where we don’t tell our artists how much they mean to us while we can. We don’t give them the support and love they deserve while they’re alive. It’s only when they pass on when we stop and think ”WOW” I really love what this person has done for the culture. I would really like to change that way of thinking” says Vocab. The song is featured on his latest 18-track album Language available now.
